What a great resort, with outstanding staff and a nice atmosphere. It connects straight to a silver-white beach lined with waving palms. If this isn’t the best place in Zanzibar, it’s close.

I’d put it at 3.5-4 stars, with room for plenty of improvement. Here’s how I rated things: location 5/5, cleanliness 4/5, reception staff 5/5, room furniture 4/5, lighting 4/5, room smell 3/5, housekeeping in the rooms 3/5, pool 5/5, pool cleanliness 3/5, breakfast 3/5, dinner 3/5, food taste 3/5, variety 3/5, freshness 5/5, beach area 4/5, beach cleanliness 5/5, checkout staff 5/5, no TV, wifi 4/5. It’s in a very quiet area with a few small restaurants nearby. The minimarkets are tiny local shops with limited products. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced, and the staff try as much as they can to please everyone. I’d recommend it 80%.

The staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and they were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It’s a beautiful location for relaxing and exploring the surroundings. We had a lovely stay, a true gem!

We stayed here in August 2025. The gardens are beautiful, and the hotel is good. Housekeeping did a great job, and the friendly staff were ready to help. The reception guys kept checking that we were comfortable throughout our stay. Highly recommend.

The food was very good and nicely presented, and everything was spotless. The rooms were awesome, with the beach, lovely well-kept pool, bar, and eating area all close by. We’ve just got back from an amazing stay at Kena Beach. We were so impressed with the management and staff, and the service. They couldn’t do enough for us. We’ll definitely come back, and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else!
