Mnana Lodge Kizimkazi

The garden outside was a great place to relax, and you can borrow a bicycle for free. The beach is nearby, though the cliffs mean it's better to swim between high and low tide. Mnana Lodge also has a restaurant where the food was really good and came out quite quickly, considering you're on Zanzibar. The owner and employees were lovely, and we felt very welcome. We enjoyed our stay.

The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable enough for two, and breakfast was delicious. The owners were excellent hosts. They also arranged dolphin spotting for an additional charge and gave us very good guidance to improve our chances of seeing dolphins.

Those four days were amazing, we enjoyed everything. It's such a peaceful oasis, full of lovely plants and flowers, with a nice pool and bicycles available for guests. You can arrange all kinds of excursions from the lodge, and the food is tasty and inexpensive. The staff were wonderful, especially Jenny, the crew, and super cute Darma. They did everything they could to make our holiday great.

The dorm room where I stayed was really spacious, and the whole lodge felt cozy and homey, with an Italian, European, and African feel. It was clean, cool, beautiful, and relaxing, with a slightly old-fashioned character. The sea is only a short walk away, and you fall asleep and wake to the sound of the waves. Meals were just right, with a filling, rich breakfast and lunches ranging from seafood to Mediterranean food. Jenny is the best hostess I've met so far. Wherever you're arriving from in Zanzibar, she keeps an eye on her guests and goes out of her way to make sure you're happy. I don't know how she manages it. Thanks for a wonderful time.
