Rita and Fanakae were wonderful hosts, and they know a lot about Tanzania. They helped us map out our self-drive road trip and arranged a guide for a walk in Magamba forest. The room was comfortable, and we enjoyed the terraces overlooking Lushoto. We stayed for two nights.

We stayed in the little house down the driveway, which feels like a tiny home. It had a small kitchen where we cooked, and Rita gave us oil, salt, and pepper. The bed was fresh and comfortable with a mosquito net, and the shower had hot water. Food can also be ordered, and breakfast is included. We had to leave early, so Rita packed things for us to make our own breakfast. She was so welcoming and helpful, the nicest host! There’s a shortcut from the bus station. Ask about it and it’s a 10-minute walk to the City Centre. Thanks a lot, we had a wonderful stay in the cutest guesthouse we've found in Africa.

We’d definitely return and stay longer. Fanaka was a caring host, and the apartment was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a lovely balcony to relax on. A couple of things could be better: the toilet had no seat, and the WiFi barely worked.

I spent three unforgettable nights at Steven & Dayness, and Mr. Fanaka made them really special. His warm welcome, kindness, and deep local knowledge made a huge difference. He made sure I was comfortable throughout and shared valuable advice for exploring the beautiful Usambara Mountains. His enthusiasm for the area and care for his guests turned the trip into a real adventure. If you stay at Steven & Dayness, you're in good hands with Mr. Fanaka. He's a dedicated host and a real ambassador for the Usambara Mountains.

We came with friends for two separate stays, and Steven (Fanaka) kindly kept our bags while we went hiking for a few days. As a traveler, I really appreciated that. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade Chapati, eggs, and fruit. Steven also speaks English very well. This is a group of rooms and small, cozy apartments run by a local family. With the shortcut, it’s less than a 10-minute walk from the bus station, or a bodaboda costs 2.000 schillings. Triple Twelve, a nice local restaurant, is close by, and other places deliver here too. WiFi was the main thing that could be improved, since it didn’t work much. It would also help if the owners were more available for communication. Even so, we’d love to stay again if we return to Lushoto.
