The rooms were spotless, with a lovely view from a very large terrace overlooking the beach. There are lots of books guests can read or exchange, and breakfast has a great mix of local choices, with more than enough to eat. The Kiwengwa beach is incredible, and Nungwi doesn't come close. There are also plenty of good local and more western restaurants nearby. The owner has such a thoughtful eye for every detail throughout the hotel, and you can feel the care and hard work as soon as you walk in. The staff were wonderful and available around the clock. The owner went out of his way to help us, even when we were away from the hotel, checking in and sharing useful local information and tips. He can also take you on a tour to learn about the village and town. We've stayed in many places and feel this host deserves more than a five-star review. Thank you for being such a wonderful host.

We loved our time at Ayla Beach House. Simai greeted us with delicious tea and made us feel at home within minutes. The place is beautifully designed, with an Italian touch ;), and extremely clean. The location is amazing, and breakfast is served on the terrace with a sea view. My boyfriend and I had a great stay. Thanks for such a lovely time! Definitely recommended :)

We loved having books to borrow during our stay, with so many languages and genres to choose from. You can also leave one of your own in exchange. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace comes with an amazing ocean view. Ayla is in a great spot, away from the large hotels, so the surroundings are quiet and peaceful. The owner is from this village and was kind and helpful, as was the staff generally. There is private security outside keeping watch at night.

The rooms are lovely, and breakfast on the terrace was delicious and filling, with a sea view. Ayla beach house is right on the beach, and the setting is peaceful and relaxing. We had a lovely time there. Highly recommended!

We were four adults and had a really pleasant stay at this charming little place. The family-run bed and breakfast is small but lovely, furnished with care, and the rooms are clean and very nice. The staff are pleasant, and Simai is always willing to listen and help where he can. We started each day with breakfast on the great rooftop terrace, and somehow always ended up there again for a tasty cocktail. Another nice bonus is that three good restaurants are just a few steps away. We really enjoyed our time there.
