The service was extremely high, and we’d definitely come back. At night, two friendly Maasai escorted us to and from our tent and also kept wild animals away from camp. The whole team was so helpful and friendly. Our tent was spacious and comfortable, and housekeeping kept it tidy and clean. The food was varied and tasty. Guide Samuel knew a lot, and our driver Babu Ali was the best. Thanks as well to captain Dullah and Sarah, who kindly looked after the bar and dining area. We had a wonderful time at Selous Wildernis Camp.

Most tents look out over the water, where we watched hippos and lots of birds. The place is beautiful, right beside the river, and you arrive by boat. Staff were very friendly, and the food was phenomenal. Our guides and drivers were good, friendly, and knew their way around the park, planning outings to see as much wildlife as we wanted.

We had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone staying near Selous. The location was great, the staff nice and attentive, and the food was amazing, probably the best we had in all of Tanzania. It’s a rustic place, reached by boat, with an outdoor shower and a few bugs, which makes sense when you’re out in the middle of nature. I’d bring bug spray. I do wish there’d been mosquito nets around the bed.

The safari trips were exceptional, with all kinds of animal sightings and some spectacular moments with elusive wild dogs. We also loved the elegant giraffes, graceful impalas, and an elephant family with a huge mother and tiny baby. I’d recommend this camp to anyone looking for adventure. We had a fantastic experience here. The staff were professional and courteous, meals were good in the open-sided thatched dining area, and our guide was highly informative.
