We were only a short walk from the beach, about seven minutes, and the garden was quiet and green, with a pool and monkeys leaping between the trees. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed, and there was no tourist noise. We felt right at home. The staff were so welcoming, especially Sabry, who helped us whenever we needed it and told us about local life, customs, and rules. His dinners were great. The octopus with coconut sauce was especially delicious.

The food, staff, and pool terrace made this place feel like bliss, and I found plenty to like. The one thing that bothered me was getting to the main road. The sea view is there as advertised, though really that's because the place sits on a kind of cliff. You can walk to the beach in five minutes through an alley, or get there by scooter in ten. I didn't let those drawbacks put me off, since the other things made up for them.
