Tamani Villas

The staff were especially good, and the owner made communication easy, even arranging local activities, a car rental, and a visit to a nearby school. We ate well too, with good food at reasonable prices. Right on the coast, the place has a lovely beach, a Zanzibar-style look, a landscaped yard and pool, plus a big terrace in the neighboring building for relaxing or dining. Our room was roomy, with a nice terrace and both air conditioning and fans available. The sea made the pool feel unnecessary, really. Beds weren't the most comfortable and the shower could be improved, though neither was a major issue.

We rented a whole villa, which gave our group plenty of privacy. The ladies especially appreciated being able to swim comfortably in the private pool, and we had dinner outside under the veranda each evening. The quiet setting was a big part of the appeal: Tamani is away from the main tourist areas, so the beach wasn't crowded and nights were peaceful, with the coconut palms rustling in the breeze. The villa is right by the sea, where that gentle breeze made the week feel even more relaxing. The staff were warm and attentive from our arrival onward. We left feeling rested, and would happily come back. Tamani Villas exceeded what we expected, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a calm beachfront break. The food was lovely, and everyone there made us feel welcome. Rooms, beds and washrooms were all clean and comfortable. It’s such a calm, relaxing place, and the sea is beautiful. I’d love to return with friends. I also think it’s lovely that the income from the Villas supports a nearby school providing free education to local children.

The beach is only 20 meters away, and the whole place sits in lovely green surroundings. I really enjoyed the pool lit up at night, and the rooms were clean and pleasant. Breakfast was very good too. It feels like great value, especially since the money goes straight to the village school.
