The management made our stay especially stressful. We were offered an extra night safari without being told there would be a charge, then billed USD 550 for five people. When we questioned it, they threatened not to drive us back to the nearest railway station. We were pressured to pay on the roadside and told our luggage would otherwise be unloaded and left behind. It felt like extortion and a scam, not hospitality. The lodge and especially the rooms were in very poor condition. Faucets leaked or didn’t work, screws stuck out of the shower floorboards and were dangerous, and the badly sealed door let insects of all sizes into the room. The packed safari lunches were inedible too. The access track was extremely rough and unpaved, with the last stretch taking around 45 minutes. The safari jeep couldn’t make it up the hill to the lodge, so at night we had to get out and walk despite wild animals in the area. That was frightening and completely irresponsible. The place felt poorly maintained, unsafe, and unprofessionally run. Based on our experience, I strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

The safari package was the best safari we’ve ever had. Jonathan did an amazing job, and we saw 9 lions. My partner Max and I also had a very pleasant stay at the Lodge. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner were delicious. The rooms were clean, and it’s a lovely spot to relax and enjoy nature. If you book the full package, including pickup from Morogoro, you don’t have to worry about anything. Definitely recommended near Mikumi National Park.

The lodge is a bit far inside the park, but the journey was worth it. I felt safe there, and the restaurant served me fresh vegetables and food every day. You might spot impalas on the road while driving your four-wheeler, and sometimes monkeys too. It was peaceful and relaxing, and I went back to work with a fresh mind. I’d highly recommend it.

You feel as if you’re sleeping in the park here. We even saw giraffes and baboons from the hotel, and the park is only a 20-minute drive away. The hilltop setting among the trees also has incredible sunset views. Daniel, Mgangaa, Imani, and the chefs were so welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Several times, staff anticipated what we needed and went out of their way to help with travel arrangements and our safari into Mikumi National Park. Our rooms were clean and well kept, and every meal was delicious. Highly recommend.

We came with friends and kids aged 4 and 10, and the whole group had a good experience across the five rooms we stayed in. Every room was spacious, decorated with fitting artwork, and had a real jungle feel. After a long game drive, we were greeted with baobab juice and a cold wet towel. Sunlight through the lush leaves took away our tiredness. Manager Daniel was always accommodating, and the masai help Miganca (hope I Don’t butcher his name) was so friendly and delightful. I’ll always remember the long walk from the diner to our rooms. The road there is quite bumpy, hopefully it improves. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Mikumi. Staff: 10/5. Rooms, food, and hospitality: 5/5. Kid friendly: 4/5.
