Mimi na Wewe Bungalows Hotel

We were well placed for the beach and everything we wanted to see in Nungwi, and the prices were very reasonable. At Mimi na Wewe, the rooms and the rest of the hotel were kept spotless, with care in all the little details. Rafa, Nice, and everyone in the kitchen were always cheerful and ready to help. The chef is first-class, and the food was fantastic. Their lobster was one of the tastiest I’ve ever had. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely come back.

I spent five days at this lovely villa in nature, and the pool and restaurant were two of the highlights. There was shade from the buildings, so I could swim under the open sky without worrying about sunburn, and the water was a comfortable temperature. It stayed open late too, which made a nighttime swim under the stars possible. The restaurant was open all day; breakfast was delightful, and I ate all my meals there without wanting to go elsewhere. The manager arranged a tour guide promptly when I needed one, so I could enjoy exploring Zanzibar. The manager and staff were kind, responsible, and worked well as a team. The owner also checked in to see how things were going.

There was constant noise from workers inside the grounds chipping cement off walls, along with drilling at construction sites on nearby properties. There’s a lot of development, and strong burning plastic smells were coming from land beside the hotel. I booked after reading reviews that called it peaceful, but it was the opposite and not relaxing at all. The manager seemed unconcerned that guests were being disturbed and just told me “hakuna matata.” If you’re looking to relax, I’d find somewhere else.

It was quiet and the food was good for the price. I’d definitely return.
