Mnarani Beach Cottages Hotel

At high tide the hotel turns into a quiet hideaway, away from beach vendors, and time seems to slow down here. The top-floor room with a hammock had lovely views of both sunrise and sunset. Staff were very friendly, especially Nassar and Andrew, and the food was great. We enjoyed the excursions the hotel arranged, particularly the early dolphin trip, when we had the ocean to ourselves. Try the Refresh-me signature drink too, it was delicious. There’s a turtle sanctuary right next door where you can swim with rescued turtles; going early helps avoid the crowds. My only small complaint is breakfast starting at 7:30, which felt late when many guests were already waiting at 7. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay at Mnarani Beach Cottages. Highly recommended!

We stayed as a family for two nights, and the place was peaceful and quiet compared with some of the busier beach hotels nearby. It still felt convenient, with transport easy to find right outside. Our sea-view room was clean, comfortable, and cozy. One night it got chilly, and the staff brought me a blanket. The shower had surprisingly strong pressure, a small detail I appreciated. My brother swam in the ocean just steps away, while I used the well-kept, peaceful pool. Breakfast was especially good, and I fell for the focaccia. I also had at least five Mint Garden drinks during our short stay. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and the staff were genuinely kind and ready to help. The whole team made us feel welcome. I’d recommend Mnarani Beach Cottages for a relaxed beachfront stay with good food and warm hospitality, and I’d come back.

The setting by the sea is pleasant and clean, with friendly staff, tasty food, and convenient access to the beach from the dining deck, bar, and rooms. Non-residents can also get good deals for swimming and meals at the hotel. A couple of practical issues: mats in the changing rooms after swimming and hooks on the walls for hanging things would help. Watch out, as some “guests” seem to spit in the pool. It’s unhygienic and disgusting. The credit card machines can malfunction, and receptionists should know more about which taxi drivers accept card payments.

The rooms are outdated, and the service was poor apart from Nancy, Jeana, and Margaret. It could be a beautiful property, but management felt a little crazy and made it seem like we were being policed. At breakfast we could only have two eggs, and we weren’t allowed to talk as a family at the table. I guess they expect people to eat while staying on their phones.
