Sandies Nungwi Beach Zanzibar

The food was among the best we ate on the whole trip, and the staff were genuinely first-class. From the moment my wives and I arrived, the place impressed us. You can see how much care has gone into the property, and the service stayed spot-on throughout our visit. If you’re going to Zanzibar, Sandies Nungwi is a must. 10/10 🙌

Our favourite parts of the all-inclusive food were the many delicious vegetarian choices at dinner. I usually worry about limited options when travelling, but here I was spoiled for choice at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Saturday’s live music was lovely, and it was nice seeing the management team spend time with guests and staff. The area managers chatted, shared drinks, and watched football with everyone, which made the place feel like a family. I also had one of my best massages at the spa, and the gym was excellent for keeping active. The hotel sits right on a beautiful beach, and excursions and day trips are easy to book. We could walk along the shore or through local streets for shopping and nearby beach bars. But after exploring elsewhere, we kept wanting to return to Sandies. Its African-inspired decor and animal-themed details gave the place a distinctive atmosphere. Our master suite upgrade was a wonderful surprise. It was bright, beautifully designed, spotless, and had a huge comfortable bed and all the amenities we needed. Cleanliness across the hotel was excellent, with fresh towels, turndown service, immaculate rooms, and careful attention to detail. The housekeeping team deserves a lot of credit. The staff made the stay. Everyone went out of their way to help, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Judy and Emmanuel made delicious cocktails, especially the Ndizi and Spicy Sandies Cooler. David brought loads of enthusiasm to water aerobics, activities, and challenges. Eesa, the doorman, greeted us with a smile every day and was always friendly and helpful. We were welcomed so warmly when we arrived, and the whole team made sure we had what we needed. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. The service, facilities, cleanliness, entertainment, food, and location went beyond what we expected. It’s the best hotel I’ve stayed in, and I can’t wait to return.

The hotel has a calm, laid-back feel, and the rooms are very clean. They spray for insects at set times during the day. The service was beyond perfect, and Gabou was especially kind when I needed a charger. It’s also ideally placed near the tourist shops.

The one thing I’d add is an iron and ironing board in the rooms. Apart from that, everything was excellent, and I’d gladly stay here again. It’s a new property, so the rooms felt fresh, modern, comfortable, and spotless, and the food was delicious throughout our visit. The staff were especially good: friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I’d definitely recommend it.
