After we spent six hours stuck in deep mud and digging our car free, the Asanja team helped us get across the flooded bridge and reach our lodge. On March 3rd, after days of heavy rain in Tanzania, we were the only self-driving tourists in Serengeti and couldn’t make it to our destination. Moses, Barek, the camp manager, and their colleagues brought us food, drinks, and even offered us a room. They checked the river level with us, contacted our lodge and others to work out a plan, then escorted us across the drift in another car. The whole ordeal took another two hours, but they made us feel completely at home. We didn’t stay at Asanja, but we’re forever grateful for their help. Guests there will be in safe hands.

The rooms were a real wow, and the meals were just as good. Breakfast and dinner were very high quality. We stayed at Asanja in May 2025, and the kindness of the staff made us feel comfortable from the start right through to the end. Thank you, I can only recommend it.

The place has a special charm, with little details you keep noticing as you go along. Isaya gave us a warm welcome, and Moses and Henry kept making sure we were well looked after and had everything we needed. The staff made the whole stay feel magical and left us with a lovely memory, including an incredible, indescribable surprise at the very end. Thank you for everything!

Our safari ran smoothly from booking directly with Asanja through to the airport drop-off, thanks to the whole team and Sharif's particular attention. We spent four days with our guide Sharifu, who has 16 years of experience and a great eye for wildlife. He spotted all the big five and rarer animals like serval, drove skillfully, shared his love of the bush and animals, and kept our kids engaged throughout. We spent two nights in the family tent at Asanja Moru over Christmas 2024. It was spacious and a little more remote, and the camp is well placed, with lions and leopards nearby. The staff struck a rare balance of professionalism and kindness, and both dinners were delicious. One was a fun surprise, though we and the staff had to hurry when lions roared less than 50 meters away. The team kept us safe and scared the lions off for the night. We could still hear them roaring later. A real safari experience. I’d highly recommend Asanja as a place to stay and for a tour.
