At night, Maasai guards escorted guests between their tents and the main tent, and communication by walkie-talkie added a bit of adventure. I felt safe under their watch. Falling asleep to distant lion roars was magical, and I can’t say enough about the friendly, thoughtful staff. Special thanks to Doreen and Monica, you were both amazing! My spacious tent had mosquito nets, coffee and tea facilities, and excellent Wi-Fi. The bathroom had a hot shower, shower gel, shampoo but no conditioner, plus a toothbrush and toothpaste. There wasn’t a hairdryer. The main tent worked as both lounge and restaurant, with outdoor dining as an option. Meals were buffet-style, and the chef did a wonderful job accommodating my gluten-free diet with care and creativity. From the warm welcome onward, the team made me feel at home. An absolutely enchanting place, wholeheartedly recommended.

At night we could hear lions, zebras, and hyenas around our tent, but the staff and Maasai protection made us feel completely safe. It was an incredible experience, and the most unforgettable, authentic place I’ve ever stayed. The accommodation was fantastic and so unique, the food was incredible, and the chefs and staff were wonderful to be around. Talking with the Maasai warriors and learning about Maasai culture was an incredible experience. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Wildlife was everywhere around camp: giraffes near the tents, zebras grazing nearby, a hyena by the kitchen, and even a hippo wandering through at night. We fell asleep to lions, birds, and grazing animals. The tent was spacious and comfortable, with a proper bed, bathroom, and solar-powered electricity. From the Maasai welcome when we arrived to being safely escorted around the camp, the staff were outstanding. Everyone was friendly, professional, and attentive. The food was better than we expected in such a remote place. Embalakai Camps gave us a deeply immersive Serengeti experience, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting an authentic safari stay.

The people were truly amazing, warm and welcoming, and made us feel right at home. We had a wonderful stay at Embalakai Camps, with excellent food and a great experience all around. We couldn’t have asked for better, and highly recommend the camp to anyone visiting Tanzania.

We stayed for two nights inside the huge Serengeti National Park, which saves visitors travel time. There are more than 20 tents, each with its own hot shower and toilet. There’s no electric fence, door, or lock, just zippers to close the tent, so it really feels like the wilderness. We saw buffalo right behind our tent at night, and you need an escort to reach the main lobby after dark. The staff were very nice, and they dance every night during dinner. Breakfast and dinner are good buffets, with omelette and pasta stations. There’s no hot water pot in the tent, but a hair dryer is available at the front desk. If you drink a lot of water at night, ask for extra bottled water. Keep spare bathroom items like lotion and shower caps from other lodges, as they may come in handy. Overall, a unique experience.
