I was traveling with a small group but stayed in a tent alone, and felt completely safe the whole time. It was hard to believe the tent was in the middle of the Serengeti, it was spectacular. We had hot showers, great food, and excellent service all around.

The grounds feel like a lovely mix of safe luxury and raw wilderness. We were escorted to and from our rooms, and could do some excellent birding around camp. The kopjes behind it are a good place to spot klipspringers, small antelope that live among the rocks. The Serengeti is right outside, and we were thrilled to hear lions and hyenas at night. We loved staying at Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp. We arrived late one evening and checked in by dusk. The staff were friendly, and the manager was affable with a great sense of humour. Restaurant service felt intimate, personal, and warm. Our waitress kindly took the initiative to give extra care to my daughter, who had a tender tummy.

My favorite stop on this Serena group tour. It’s smaller and more private, but the tent camp still has all the comforts you need. It really brings the Africa feel, with a great location, very attentive service, and food that was 100%.

Asante Sana to our friends at the Mbuzi Mawe! Venus made us great drinks, and all the food was super delicious. Everyone on staff was friendly and happy to help with anything. The camp is beautiful, comfortable, and so welcoming. We loved our two nights here, and they made our anniversary trip perfect.

The staff waited for us with a hot dinner and cool refreshments, which was lovely after a 15.5 hour trip. We’d expected to arrive around 3 in the afternoon after a 7-8 hour drive, but two breakdowns and then catching a ride with another company meant we finally got there at 10:30pm. The tented lodge was wonderful and the location amazing. We watched the baboons while eating breakfast. Great food, and the tent was luxurious, nothing basic about it.
