A family of five, with kids aged 18, 16, and 12, we spent three nights here and it was a highlight of our trip. Seeing giraffes quite close by when we woke on the first morning felt like a once-in-a-lifetime privilege. The camp is in a beautiful spot, the rooms are unbelievably luxurious, and the staff were kind and engaging. We were welcomed warmly, and each day someone different checked in, shared a story, or brought coffee to our room to wake us up. We loved getting to share a few days with the kids and such a welcoming team.
We spent two nights here on our honeymoon and loved the peaceful bush setting. In the morning, we drank coffee on the balcony while watching wildebeest and zebras. At sunset, it was a lovely place to sit and take in the view. There was even wildlife action in camp, three lions killed a wildebeest. Hearing animals at night was a really cool experience. The staff were friendly and the food was good too.
We loved staying here and really didn’t want to leave. The location and outlook in the heart of nature are amazing, the food was great, and the staff were welcoming and so attentive. They couldn’t do enough for us. The showers were quite an experience: they heat the water and bring it to your tent for a bucket shower. Thank you, Team Nyikani, you’re amazing. Lisa, Craig, Jacqui & Mike (the Kiwis) :)
I stayed for two nights, but had to cut my trip short following the US embassy’s advice about possible political unrest ahead of independence day Dec 9. This came after the government shut down the country following the presidential election in 2025. The camp wouldn’t refund me for the canceled nights. I find it unacceptable and greedy that I have to bear the consequences of political unrest in Tanzania.
The rooms are spacious and the camp is in a great spot on the plains. It gets damn hot between the morning drive and the next one at 4. If you’re traveling with kids, you might want somewhere with a pool to make that sweltering stretch more enjoyable and less of a crankfest. Just a heads up.
