I’m so grateful to Sale for the warm welcome. He’s such a kind person, and he made our stay at Zenj House amazing. We were there during a difficult period in Tanzania, when flights were disrupted and the political situation left us without internet. Moments like that really show you what people are like. The internet is working again on the island and Hakuna Matata life is back ✨ You’ll enjoy your stay in Zanj, with a beautiful beach just a five-minute walk away.

The owner says in his reply that I didn't stay there, but I did, and that response strikes me as childish and shows he isn't capable of running a business like this. He also called my review false, so I'm providing a picture I took myself while sitting outside to show that he's lying. During my stay, I found lizards in the room, which made me uncomfortable. There were no seats near the pool, and the owner was rude and aggressive. This was the worst air BnB I've stayed at. The good reviews made me think it would be decent, but I was mistaken. DO NOT STAY!!!

For a really good price, the place was beautiful compared with most hotels in Zanzibar. The owner was very helpful and found us a great room at short notice, going out of his way to help. The only letdown was some confusion over the price, and we ended up paying $10 too much.

The room was spacious, with a very big bathroom, and both it and the hotel were extremely clean. Breakfast in the morning was an amazing English breakfast, and there’s a lovely pool for relaxing in the afternoon. Zenj House is a wonderful B&B, with a very friendly owner who’s great to chat with. It’s a convenient ten-minute drive from the airport, and they offer a free shuttle depending on arrival times.
