Kiponda B&B

Our bikes were stored here, and the staff were kind and helpful about it. They replied quickly when I asked about bike and luggage storage. The room was a little small, but we could relax on the breezy, comfortable rooftop terrace, where people dine and lounge. Breakfast offered plenty of choice: fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs, bread, ground coffee made with a French press, and tea. We had a fantastic time at Kiponda. The service was spot on, and I’d highly recommend it as a budget hotel with friendly service and style.

The building has a lovely atmosphere, and Kiponda makes a great base for exploring Stone Town. The staff were incredibly friendly and ready to help with anything. They even came along when I went to buy a bus ticket and the famous Zanzibar football jersey. Breakfast was delicious, especially with their excellent coffee. Highly recommended!

We only stayed one night while visiting Stone Town, but the staff made a strong impression on us. They were incredibly kind, helped with our requests, and went out of their way to make our journey easier. The hotel itself is modest but fine for the price, and centrally located. It’s easy to walk to all the tourist spots in Stone Town. Cars can’t reach the hotel, but a taxi can stop just around the corner, and the drivers and staff will help with your luggage.

Kiponda was one of the quietest places in town, which suited me as an insomniac, and I’d absolutely stay again. The rooms are lovely, and breakfast is delicious, especially the avocado passion juice. Selma is a great manager, and Jimmy is one of the kindest people you could meet. He made my stay. The breakfast staff could be a bit more attentive and smiley, but otherwise I recommend the hotel very highly. Thanks for everything.
