It’s right in the center, so you can walk everywhere easily, but the room was small and hidden away. We booked two nights and needed to move one night to another date because of a booking cancellation. They agreed, but when we confirmed the dates, they refused to move it after all. That felt unprofessional and like a rip-off.

Everyone there was friendly and helpful, though the gentleman at reception, possibly the owner, was a bit too nice... The place is somewhat hidden, and with my poor sense of direction I often struggled to find my way back. The air-conditioned rooms are very small, but perfectly adequate if all you need is somewhere to sleep.

The host never replied, so we weren’t able to stay. It felt like a huge lack of respect, and then we struggled to find another hotel because most were fully booked. Shame I can’t give zero stars.

The hotel sits right in the heart of Stone Town and the staff were friendly. It’s a tall, narrow building with small rooms. Our only real drawback was that the water was off in the morning before check-out.
