Villa Fenix

I booked a deluxe room through Booking.com, but was given a family room for 2+1 instead, at 1500 UAH per night. The room had just two glasses for three people, and dust covered the floor, closets and bed. There was only one single-use shampoo, so for a stay of two days or more I'd have to bring my own. There was no kitchen or restaurant. The grounds were nice, and the room did have air conditioning and a refrigerator. I don't recommend it.

The place was quiet, and I liked it overall. There was a fridge in the room, plus a large enclosed area with parking, a barbecue and a gazebo. The interior was beautiful. There isn't a holder for the shower, just a bar. There's only a bar for food, so you'll need to find somewhere in town or bring your own supplies. The price is high, and cheaper options are available. Thanks!

The place feels cozy and welcoming, and both the interior and exterior deserve a 5+. There are gazebos for barbecuing, though you pay to use one and may have to wait in line. Firewood and the barbecue itself are included in that price. It would be useful to add another gazebo, and maybe a portable barbecue or two with a place to use them.

The administrator was a real plus: a very nice girl who could help with issues she had the ability to solve, and suggest places to relax or get a snack. There's no kitchen here. The towels were clean and smelled fresh, and the reception on the first floor is nice, the part they show in photos to attract tourists. The rooms were another story. There was almost no soundproofing, not even a seal around the room door. We could hear a light switch click next door, people on the stairs, and conversations in the corridor and other rooms. The bathroom was very bare. The shower curtain was old, there were two pieces of soap, just two towel hooks and no shelves. There was nowhere to hang swimsuits, and towels couldn't dry properly on the hooks. Toiletries had to sit on the sink or a narrow shelf by the mirror. No hairdryer, and if you bring one, the only place to set it is in the sink. The toilet bucket had a lid you had to lift by hand. The shower had a real shower head, but no holder, so you had to hold it in one hand while washing with the other. Very awkward for anyone with long hair. There were no mosquito nets, and lots of mosquitoes came into the room. The old TV showed everything in purple and green. We were offered another room with a flat-screen TV, but it had only one window and was very dark, so we stayed in this one. When I asked if we could have a kettle, the answer was a firm no, though they said we could get coffee at reception. Hotels we'd stayed in abroad had provided a kettle when asked. At 825 UAH, the price was clearly too high. For this room, no more than 400 UAH. The owners don't seem to understand comfort or pricing.
