Karpatski Hotel & Restaurant

There are several resorts nearby, and we slept well. Breakfast was enough for us. Just be aware there's no elevator. Reception kindly offered to carry our luggage up to the third floor, but we still had to go up and down the stairs for the rest of the trip.

My stay at Karpatski hotel was a very bad experience. The cottage itself is nice, but construction wasn't finished. There was no lighting on the stairs, and the slippery, unstable steps felt dangerous. We asked them to clear falling ice from the roof, but nothing was done. The ski room couldn't fit everyone's boots on the dryer, and gear was left on shared racks without labels, so guests could take someone else's skis by mistake. The hotel advertises a spa with a sauna and pool, but those facilities are shared with other hotels and are a few miles away on another property. They were often overcrowded. There's also a sauna in the lobby, but hotel guests have to pay for it. Front desk staff were rude and unprofessional, raising their voices and making conversations unpleasant. The free transfer to the slopes only ran at certain times, and the small cars meant long waits for our turn. I wouldn't stay at Karpatski again. My experience was so negative I'd give it zero stars.

The rooms are cozy, freshly renovated, and nicely designed. The staff were friendly and professional, breakfast was great, and there's a ski room. The spa was super. The hotel sits above Bokovel resort, at the foot of a gorgeous mountain in an old forest.

This rating is only for the spa. It was terribly dirty, and the outdoor pool was barely warm. Never again!
