Хостел Perron

I definitely do not recommend Perron on Ryleeva Street. I found another hostel for half the price, and its administrator was much more reasonable. The place felt empty and cold from the start. On the phone, the administrator spoke to me as if we were familiar, giving directions like “go around, come in, go up.” I’m a soldier and limp on my left leg. When he asked whether I had a prosthesis, I felt it was none of his business. After I climbed to the third floor, he opened a door and I stepped inside. I moved against the wall to let him pass and asked where to go next. He waved vaguely at a group of rooms and said, “well, here?” I told him I didn’t understand. He replied, “Bro, what do you want?” I explained that I wanted to check in, go shopping, sleep there, and leave in the morning. He said he was an officer and a soldier too, then told me I wouldn’t be checking in and wouldn’t even listen to me. I wished him a good evening and left.

The metro is only about 10 minutes away, and the hostel is in a really convenient spot. The rooms were clean, with fresh towels and linens. There was always someone available to contact if I had a question or needed help. A wonderful hostel.

We were the hostel’s first guests, since it had just opened, and everything in our deluxe room was new, from the furniture to the bedding and dishes. The room also had its own shower and toilet. The owner greeted us and was very welcoming and helpful. The map puts the hostel about five minutes from the metro. We had a great weekend there.

My main little frustrations were the heat at night and the crowded fridge. There was air conditioning in the room but no remote, and opening the windows didn’t cool it down. The shelves in the one refrigerator were packed, so a second one would help. It would also be nice to be able to go outside until 10 PM without asking the receptionist to let us back in, especially for smokers, or to have a small room with a window for people wanting fresh air. That said, I was satisfied with the stay. It was quiet, the price was very reasonable, and it had what I needed for a night’s rest before or after a trip. I booked through Booking.com and got a quick call confirming the reservation. The hostel was easy to find, with windows facing the station and trains. The receptionist was friendly and showed me around. I was only the third person in the six-bed girls’ room, which looked just like the online photo. The place was amazingly clean, with a tiled floor that shone like a mirror and a spotless bathroom stocked with soap and paper. The bedding and towels smelled clean and air-conditioned.
