Ride hostel

For 171 uah per person, this was more than worth the money. I was in a big dorm with 12 people, but the beds were really comfy, and the extra amenities were outstanding. Sandra at reception was so sweet, too. I can't think of anything bad about the stay. Super happy!

It's a quiet, clean hostel close to a metro station. The common area was the main letdown for me: it felt cold and uncomfortable, and there wasn't much room to hang out with other travelers. The staff also don't speak much English, so they couldn't really recommend nearby places like supermarkets or restaurants.

I wouldn't recommend this place to foreign guests. Staff don't understand much beyond “hello” and “goodbye,” and there are only 2 toilets and showers for too many people. A lot of the time there's no toilet paper, and there are plenty of mosquitoes. The reception girls during the week are really unpleasant. They don't talk to guests or make anyone feel welcome, they just open the door. They use a lot of chemical products, and staff make noise and talk in the room while people are trying to sleep during the day. At night, some people play music or do other things without headphones, and many of the regular guests snore. There's no proper living room where people can meet and chat. Everyone stays by themselves on their phone, and that's it.

The kitchen is nice, the beds are comfortable and have curtains, and the staff are really good. This is one of the best hostels in Kharkov. Special thanks to Sandra, Alina and Ira. They're kind and very helpful.
