We left to find somewhere else to stay. The owner wouldn't offer any discount, even though one of the three rooms he'd said were available turned out to be a red room with a curtain rod fallen down, dated decor, and not enough sheets for four people. The window view wasn't much either. We'd planned to book on Booking.com, but after talking with the owner, who said all three rooms were free and that we didn't need to book there, we arrived without a reservation. He seemed to be trying to save money. Terrible experience!!!

The view is nice, sure, but from the red room you're looking over courtyards, not the river. We left just 10 minutes after checking in. Everything was broken, worn out, and dirty, and I didn't even feel safe walking barefoot on the carpet. The sofa in the “kitchen” was covered in stains and burps. Don't waste your time.

The view is absolutely stunning. The building was put up in 2006, I think, and was one of the first high-rises of this kind in Kharkiv. I can't tell what became of it or what shape it's in now. Apparently apartments are rented out, though it's hard to say whether anyone lives there.

Be careful who you trust. Booking showed us a rate of 640 UAH per night, but when the owner came to collect the money he charged 800. He said that was Booking's problem and that he sets his own price. Very bad!
