Chervona Ruta

The food was so good.

The big downside for us was the water in the pump room. It seemed to have more sodium than magnesium, and we felt it might make the body retain fluid. We woke during the night feeling rough, and were swollen and worn out by morning. There was no hot water in the house bathrooms either, and the hamam smelled like dirty rags. The grounds and houses are lovely, everything was clean and well kept, and the pools were comfortably warm. Breakfast was buffet style and the food was very good. There’s a souvenir market and a confectionery close to the hotel, and the restaurant gives a 10% discount on lunch and dinner. At night, frogs were croaking under the windows, which was manageable until the ducks and storks joined in. By 4 am it sounded like a concert.

I’m a serviceman, and I wanted to share what happened at the Chervona Ruta restaurant. The food was tasty and the place was clean, but the way we were treated was a disgrace. My wife and I had been seated and ordered a lot of food. Half an hour later, they told me our table was reserved, while we still had almost a full bottle of wine and plenty of food on the table. What were we supposed to do with it? We wanted to relax, too. The administrator came across as very sarcastic. I don’t know what my wife and I did to upset her; we were quiet. The only pleasant part was the waitress, who received a tip from us. It felt awful to see veterans being pushed out of a restaurant like that. I can’t recommend Chervona Ruta. I hope none of you end up in the same situation, and wish everyone a good rest.

A lovely, peaceful place in Ukraine. The SPA hotel is cozy and sits in the middle of a picturesque village. You can relax there and have treatment with mineral water. Breakfast is good, and the hotel staff are attentive. It’s the kind of place I’d want to return to.
