Stara Banya Hotel

The large shelter in the basement has a toilet, shower, and internet, which really feels like it was set up with people in mind. The complex also has a playground, pond, orchard, and recreation area, with plenty of room for cars. The apartments are lovely, and the place feels homely. There is always heating and electricity, and the concierge and staff are polite.

The room price seems to rise when more visitors arrive, so the website price may not match what you’re charged. All night we could hear music and people arguing, and the hotel felt less comfortable than a dump. I’ve stayed in many hotels, but this was the worst. I hope everyone can stay as far away from this place as possible.

For three days, we had no running water in our tiny room with its own bathroom, just a basin of water they gave us. The service was mediocre, and the room itself wasn’t in good shape either.

The shower curtain was covered in mold, the shower head was missing its gasket, and the washing machine leaked. The dishwashing sponge was so disgusting it made me feel sick. There was dust piled high in the closets, trash in the rooms, dried food spilled on the floor, and mice. The bed smelled and clearly hadn’t been changed after the previous guests. There was no toilet paper or shampoo, the towels were like rags, the TV didn’t work, and there was no internet. We told the staff in person about all these serious service problems and got a stupid answer: “Sorry, we don’t have time.” A horror when checking in. What are you even being paid for? 👎👎👎👎
