Saksagan Hotel

A comfortable hotel, probably best for people traveling on business. The rooms are clean, breakfast is okay, and it works well for this city. There's a green outdoor area, partly under construction, plus free parking. The pool and gym are modest. The staff are friendly.

Book a table at the restaurant ahead of time. If you don't, you'll need to eat in your room or go out, since nothing is within walking distance. The restaurant is very good and breakfast is awesome. Definitely the best hotel in Kryvyi Rih, in my opinion.

Update 3-25-21: This was my third stay, and each time has been worse. After a 12-hour flight and a 7-hour drive from Kyiv, I reached Kryvyi Rih at 4 pm, two hours after check-in began, only to learn that my room wasn't ready. With the travel schedule I'd had, I forgot my own advice to buy water in advance. I ended up paying dearly for it with a crippling hangover, then had to walk 10 minutes from my room to the noisy, crowded bar to buy 600 ml of water for 110 UAH. Someone else please open a decent hotel in this city so I have somewhere else to stay. Original post: The property is beautiful, with a terrace, new facilities, and a decent gym. It's reasonably priced, and the beer is cold. But the restaurant service is frustrating, and reception seems clueless. They switch off the hot water when fewer people are showering, so don't plan on getting clean in the afternoon or early evening. The food often seems to be cooked ahead, microwaved, then dressed up with microgreens. I got cold dumplings, and they microwaved the same meal again with the half-eaten dumpling I'd returned. By then flies had landed on it, and I had to pick them off before eating. The biggest issue is water. The only way to get any is to buy the expensive small bottles at the restaurant. Ask them to send water to your room and they'll say no. Ask for a glass with dinner or your prepaid breakfast, and they'll tell you to go take a walk. Stop at a supermarket before you arrive.

The morning buffet was excellent, and the staff were courteous and very helpful. The rooms were spotless. I've stayed here twice and plan to keep coming back whenever I visit the city.
