I liked the location by Independence square, and the views from the kitchen and dorm were amazing. The woman working there was friendly. The hostel itself is beautiful, with soft bedding and hot, strong showers. There are two showers, and they provide a large, thick towel. The kitchen, bathrooms, and dorms were cleaned every day. There are CCTV cameras, three big refrigerators, and lots of supermarkets, restaurants, shops, and bus stops just a minute away. I decided to pay for a full month. It was cheaper to pay cash, 1100 UAH for a week or 4400 UAH for a month, than to pay night by night.

There was no air conditioning, and the heat was so bad I kept waking up. The place was cramped and dirty, and the bathroom was deplorable. The woman running it was extremely unfriendly, acting like I owed her something. She kept telling me to switch off my reading light after 10, even though it was behind a curtain.

The admin was extremely rude and completely unprofessional. When I rang the intercom, the greeting was, “Who are you?” The place was dirty, has no signage, and doesn't give check-in instructions. They don't accept cards either. Don't stay here, there are plenty of better hostels around.

It's clean, the beds are comfortable, and the location is extremely convenient. If you can't find the entrance, you probably missed the instructions, since it's quite easy to locate.

The owner is sweet, and the price is very affordable. The place is cramped and the beds aren't especially comfortable, but the location is hard to beat in Kyiv. The balcony views look like a postcard. It'll do the job for a low-budget stay.
