Hotel Hostynnist

The rooms are spacious and set up for different group sizes. There’s a kitchen, a small dining room, and the food is decent. Reception is right there when you arrive, and the staff are friendly. The hostel occupies the fourth and fifth floors of a hotel, with elevator access. There’s parking nearby and a park close by. When I stayed, a children’s hockey team was visiting. The smoky room was a problem, though, and the strong cigarette smell hits you as soon as you get onto the floor.

I stayed in a suite, and it was awful. The wallpaper was peeling, the furniture was shabby, there were holes in the walls, and every outlet was loose. The carpet was stained and hadn’t even been swept, let alone vacuumed. In the two-room suite, the light worked in only one room, the floor lamps and light fixtures were broken, and the beds were torn. Cockroaches were running around! The rooms were dirty and unsanitary, so don’t believe the reviews saying they’re okay. They charged 1100 UAH for a room in a hotel industry dormitory. Aren’t the owners ashamed?

The only thing that bothered me was how cold it got at night. I ended up sleeping with two blankets. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. Having to share the toilet and shower with another room was fine, and the kitchen downstairs had a microwave for warming food. Coffee and tea were free, too.

Parking was available, and the staff were friendly, even making coffee. It’s a basic place in a student dorm on the 4.5th floor, with a kitchen and a fridge. Two rooms share a toilet and shower. Everything’s old but still works, and if you’re not after luxury, it may suit you. The sheets and towels were very old, though. It came to 700 UAH total, with the 600 UAH room rate plus a 100 UAH daily fee. I know that isn’t expensive. 👍👍👍
