Hotel Obolon

The room was clean, nicely furnished, and had a comfortable bed, and the staff were friendly. I was in town on business and found everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The café on site was a real convenience too, since I could have a good dinner without looking around an unfamiliar city. A great option for a work trip.

We stayed here while passing through Kyiv, and I remember it as the only hotel in Obolon, right in the district's center. It was very cool and expensive, and I can't really call it a good hotel. Everything feels old and hasn't been renovated, as if it's running on old investments. There's no breakfast and no service. Still, I'm glad people are working through such difficult times for the country.

The staff were polite and friendly, and the room was clean and tidy. Mine was a double with a king-size bed, though the plumbing was troublesome, especially the leaking shower. There's no kitchen, unfortunately. It's a decent choice for business travel or a short stay.

We paid 2,000 UAH for a superior room for two, and I still can't see how that price is justified. The room itself was nice, but there was no minibar or even water. We had a hard time finding a 0.5 bottle of Morshynska at reception. We arrived at 2 AM, and the receptionist acted as if we'd woken her up at home. If you're traveling late, you won't have much chance to relax. It's shameful to get this kind of service in Kyiv.
