My friend and I were visiting Ukraine for the first time, and the price seemed good, so we booked a room for two. The confirmation email was basically a blank, unreadable placeholder. The area looked nice when we arrived, but then we were sent five minutes up the road to a run-down building. It turned out we were sharing a room with four other people, though we went along with it at first. That evening, a male guest made us, the only women there, feel very uncomfortable. Another guest had climbed into my friend’s bed while we were out. We found somewhere else because we didn’t feel comfortable or safe. When we returned the next day to hand back the keys, the woman at reception was rude and dismissive. She didn’t care why we were checking out early or about the unsafe situation, said we hadn’t paid despite our proof, and acted annoyed that we were telling her we were leaving and returning the keys. I’m completely disappointed by the false impression about the room, the lack of concern for guest safety, and the awful attitude. I’d suggest staying at the hotel down the road.

The separate apartment, a little away from the main hotel, is especially nice. You can book a bed in an eight-person room and might have the place to yourself for a while, since it’s usually not very busy. The cleaner comes daily, and both the washing machine and iron are free to use.

I only stayed for three hours, but it was good. There were no single rooms available, so I took a room shared with three other people for about 300 Ukrainian currency. The receptionist told me a single room costs around 1000 Ukrainian currency. She could speak English, and she was cute.

I booked another stay already. The room I rented was nice, and I didn’t realize it was a hostel until the next morning. The staff are young but very professional. If only everyone in their twenties were like that. It’s a wonderful place.

The room was peaceful and really nice, and cleaning was spot on. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were too thick. It’s close to the metro and train station, but the neighborhood itself is quiet. There are washing and drying machines available. Staff are sweet, but their English is very basic and they could use more training in dealing with customers. There was no information or brochures about the city or nearby area, and without blackout curtains it’s hard to sleep once the sun comes up. Recommended accommodation, with a few drawbacks.
