For the price, this small hotel downtown is well worth a stay. It's set in a courtyard, so it's very quiet, and the staff are kind. The bed, bathroom, and furniture are surprisingly good quality for a budget place. It's much better than the more depressing, Soviet-style side of Kiev's hotel scene.

The rooms are tiny, but have what you need, and the old furniture, lamps, and paintings give the place some Soviet charm. It's in a typical East European apartment block, with reception consisting of a small desk and PC on the second floor. There isn't a breakfast room, so breakfast is brought to your room. The floors look much nicer than the rooms. Fine for a night or two.

They charged more than the online price and didn't provide soap or a second towel. The hotel is in a bad area of the city, and the staff were arrogant and unwilling to help. I don't recommend this place.

The staff were friendly, and it was quiet and cozy. The place has a bit of a royal-era feel, though that time has clearly passed. It also seems like the last renovation was quite a while ago.

The rooms were cramped and stuffy, and the corridors felt scary. Staff barely spoke English, and they insisted on payment in advance, in cash only. Just awful.
