We loved our stay, and it was a handy stop on the highway while travelling from Kyiv to the airport in Chisinau. The restaurant, Shisha Positano, is in a tent opposite the hotel. The food was great, with plenty of grilled meat and good Italian and international options, though I would have liked a wider choice of Ukrainian dishes beyond a few landmark ones. If you like liver, try the chopped liver, it's amazing. The unfiltered beer from the local Umman brewery was very tasty, and I wish they'd offered more of their beers. Our room was on the second floor of the main house, which has no elevator. It was clean and modern, with very comfortable beds and good mattresses. There was a big shower, all the bathroom amenities, a coffee machine with two Julius Meinl (Austrian famous coffee maker) tabs, a stocked minibar fridge, a small TV set, free WiFi, and a wooden balcony looking out over the woods lit up in a magical way. The Christmas-like lights are a little kitschy, but the area is well maintained and has a lovely, personal touch. They turn the lights off at midnight. You can also take a bicycle around the nice surroundings. My one suggestion is to attach the small room-safe to something. It's loose in the cupboard, and light enough to carry out. The SPA area in the basement of the second house, the one with an elevator, was a really nice surprise for this kind of local hotel. After 5pm, it had a spacious, very clean sauna, steam room, ice room, and a comfortably heated outdoor pool with a heated tent. That was welcome in the chilly weather in mid April of 2026. Along with tea, they even offered us a glass of sparkling wine, maybe because we were brave enough to swim outside in the rain at 4•C. TIP: If you have time, visit the amazing park. If religious mysticism interests you, you can also visit the tomb of the jewish mystic rabbi Nahman. The blessing is for people who pray 10 chapters of a prayer book, available there in many languages, and make a little donation on his grave. You may not want to go on the Jewish new year, when the blessing is said to increase to a promise of reaching the garden of eden afterlife. Many followers, mostly but not exclusively Hasidic, come on that day, making it one of the top pilgrimage sites in judaism today. I prefer avoiding big crowds of religiously drunk people, so I enjoyed visiting off-season and having fascinating talks with some of his devout followers. They reminded me of devout Sufi, Druse or Alevite mystics, who I also recommend visiting if you're interested in history and culture. We somehow missed the motorcycle museum, which I only read about here afterwards. It's a lovely touch from the owners and fits the personal feeling the place has. I found it funny to read visitors criticizing the location or lack of English when the other points were impeccable. Note, we're in the Ukrainian province, and the service people made up for their lack of English with big hearts and a willingness to help.
