Apartments ETAZH

We stayed in Apartments Etazh on Troitskaya Street, Building 12, in the second half of April 2019. The address unfortunately isn't marked on the map. Living in an Odessa courtyard was such a cool, atmospheric experience: an old building, courtyard, and entrance, but quiet, peaceful, and safe. The place was lit up at night, and there were loads of cats near the building. The owner was considerate, attentive, and pleasant to talk to. They showed and explained everything about the apartment and entrance, and could suggest places to eat and walk. Since it was our first time in Odessa, we planned our own walks and activities. We were also allowed to check in two hours before the time in the booking terms, which I really appreciated. I loved the little touches, like the orange dishes and “knitted” cups. The bedroom lamp had lots of settings, including a romantic one. There was a bar counter in the kitchen area, handy for a quick breakfast for two. I'd never had a bar counter before and really liked how it worked. The large TV was great for watching a favorite movie in the evening. There was also a washing machine and dryer, plus an iron and ironing board. There's no balcony, but the owner provided laundry and drying facilities, and on a sunny day clothes could dry by the windows. The shower stall was spacious. The apartment photos were accurate, and it was comfortable and pleasant to stay there. There were some small drawbacks. The kitchen cabinet doors and drawers had sticky stains, the stove was a bit dirty, and the fridge felt sticky and smelled unpleasant inside. The toilet was pushed against the wall, with a faucet at the same height, so sitting there felt uncomfortable and there wasn't enough room for your legs. The shower door didn't seal properly, and water spilled onto the rug and floor. The water heater was small. In our two-day stay, my husband and I had two times when the water turned cold while we were bathing, and we had to wait 15-30 minutes for it to heat again. The apartment was a bit chilly too. We couldn't walk barefoot on the floor and needed socks or slippers. The heating season had ended, and although there was a heater in the bedroom, we didn't use it because there was no need. There wasn't one in the living room, though, and if there had been, we could've turned it on and enjoyed some warmth for a bit)))
