Art Suites Underpub

We were given a false location, then lost contact after walking to the alternative place they suggested when we asked for a refund. I still haven’t heard back, though Booking.com says the refund should come in 5 days. We nearly had to spend the night on the street and were charged far too much. We’ll try to sue. This looks like a scam operating under several names: on Booking, Primorskiy Suite and Rest Time Apartments; on Maps, Art Suites Underpub, Potemkin's Favorite Suites, Odessa Apartments seaside, and Lazurny Bereg.

The room looked nothing like the pretty photos. We got one with blue walls, and they were dirty and stained. The towel was stained too, though I only noticed later. There was no washing machine despite the listing, and the place had no soundproofing. We couldn’t open the windows at night, but street noise still came through. For this price, there are cleaner, more comfortable options elsewhere. I booked and paid through Booking.com, but after we checked in, they canceled the reservation. I suspect it was to avoid negative reviews. I’d read about the deposit in reviews, but still, expect to pay 1,000 rubles.

They took the payment upfront and then disappeared. The owner ignores me and doesn’t answer my calls. Scammers!

I stayed in a standard double room, which was an inexpensive option for a few nights. The small kitchen was useful, though the fridge hummed constantly and I had to switch it off. I left a 500 UAH deposit and got it back. Cleanliness is the big problem: the electric stove clearly hadn’t been cleaned, there was a dead cockroach on a shelf, and the floor had loads of hair. My Booking.com reservation was canceled during my stay too, which was strange. If bad reviews worry you, don’t get into this business. A few improvements would make it easy for me to recommend the place, but as it is, I can’t.
