The spring water at Derenivska is said to have health benefits, and it added something special to our two-day stay. I also liked the spa. Dining was varied, with fresh ingredients in both Ukrainian and international dishes. The hotel rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, with a pleasant mix of modern style and local touches. The whole resort felt peaceful, with birdsong and the sound of water instead of city noise. On arrival, I noticed the scent of roses and ornamental plants, and the carefully arranged gardens made the place feel calm. Tucked among hills and nature, it felt like a little hidden paradise, a lovely spot to fully relax.

This is a nice place for walks and nature, and I visit often, though I’ve had different experiences with the restaurants here. I wanted to book at Erdeli by phone for the evening piano concert and asked for a table away from the piano because we had a baby. That’s when I found out children under 14 aren’t allowed. The website doesn’t mention this, and we could have driven 25 km only to learn it at the door. I’m glad we mentioned the baby ourselves, or this review might have been much worse. I also couldn’t find the age restriction while checking the site, and noticed they still use RU on it. Shame.

The hotel connects to the aqua zone through a mini-tunnel, so we didn’t have to go outside. We also enjoyed the thermal baths, saunas, and places to relax. My husband and I stayed at Derenivska Kupel at the end of May, and the flowers and greenery made the whole area feel like a fairytale. Everything was beautifully decorated and well cared for. Breakfast was included in the room price and tasted great. We’ll definitely come back with our children.

A great summer option for families with kids in Ukraine. The outdoor setting is lovely, the food and drink choices are fancy, and the spa and accommodation are fantastic. Prices are reasonable too.
