The setting was lovely and quiet, with forest and lakes all around, and we really liked the terrace. There was also a decorated Christmas tree for the holiday season, which was a nice touch. The stay itself was much harder. Our cottage had separate floors rented as different options, but there was no soundproofing between them. From downstairs we could hear every word, footstep, and piece of furniture moving upstairs. We were told around 20:00 on Orthodox Christmas Eve that we were the only guests and nobody would be above us. Then at 23:00, four people arrived in the same cottage, even though I later learned other houses nearby were available. We were told in the morning they were the owner’s children. They jumped around, talked, and laughed until 01:30, then apparently went to sleep at 04:00. We were effectively “celebrating” with them, since every sound carried. It was especially disappointing with our 2.5-year-old child there. There’s no restaurant on site, though staff can make breakfast if you ask and bring it to the house. Also, the boiler did heat water, but it whistled on and off all night, which was really annoying.
