We stayed in May and were happy with everything. The room looked like the photos, was clean and comfortable, and had all we needed. You get used to the sulfur-smelling water, and afterward our skin and hair felt wonderful. The hostess let us check in early in the morning after we arrived, and leave our things in the room until it was time for the train.

We chose this resort and were very glad we did. It was cozy and quiet, and Lyubov Vintsentsovna was attentive and welcoming. She also helped us when my husband hurt his knee. Thank you so much, and I recommend the place! We stayed from February 15th to 24th, 2021, in a two-room suite on the second floor. It had its own bathroom and kitchen, and was finished all in wood. The windows looked toward Mount Pogar and the Opir River, which you can walk down to. The dishes had a distinctive Ukrainian style, with jugs, plates, and cups. Towels, bed linens, a hairdryer, and disposable soap were provided. The kitchen had pans, pots, plates, knives, cutlery, a vegetable grater, an electric stove, kettle, microwave, and sink. There was everything we needed for cooking. The hostess also gives drinking water free of charge, since the local water has a strong hydrogen sulfide smell. Some people mistake it for a clogged sewer. For barbecuing, there’s a cozy gazebo with electricity, a barbecue, and firewood for sale. You can buy as much firewood as you need rather than having to pay by the portion, so even grilling 10 kg doesn’t change the price. The sauna deserves a mention: our steam room reached 105°, even with the door slightly open, so it could get hotter. The pool water has snow!!! It’s changed after each visitor, which matters. You can also rent skis, snowboards, and sleds here, at lower prices than near the ski lifts. The ski lift is a convenient 5-7-minute walk away. There’s a 24-hour store across the street, just 30 seconds away. The train station is a 15-minute walk, Nova Poshta is 20 minutes, and the Rukavichka supermarket is also 20 minutes away. Politekhnik Mountain is 5-7 minutes on foot, and Mount Pogar is 20-25 minutes away. We went to Pogar many times. It has a very good chairlift, 50 UAH for adults and 30 UAH for children. The trail takes 20 minutes and is very beautiful. At the top, you can walk to a gazebo above the cliff and ride in a sleigh with Rose the horse for 60 UAH per person.

The hostess is friendly, and I HIGHLY recommend staying here. There’s parking, running water with a hose for washing bikes, which I appreciated as I had my bike with me, and a gazebo with a barbecue. Across the road are a grocery store and a restaurant, and the Smerekova Khata hut is about 500 meters away and highly recommended. The rooms are two-bedroom. Mine had a dormer window in the bedroom, a private shower and toilet, and hot water with excellent pressure. The water smells sulfurous, but that’s okay, my skin felt so soft afterward. The hostess provides a different kind of drinking water, which tastes delicious. The private kitchen had everything I needed: a fridge, electric stove, microwave, dishes, and pots. Wi-Fi was good and fast. A great place to relax.

The location is okay, though it’s quite a way from the train station. There’s a grocery store across the road. Tap water isn’t drinkable, but bottled water is provided. The rooms aren’t new, though they’re in decent shape. Make sure to confirm the rate with the hostess. We booked in October at one price, then found on arrival that it had doubled, which was very disappointing. The final price was about average for Slavskoye.
