Lavender House

One of our best holidays. The young woman and her husband provided everything we needed and didn't charge extra, even though we left late. It's conveniently located near a supermarket, the city, and the train station. We recommend it!

We had such a good time here for the second time, and we'll definitely return. The terrace view is mesmerizing, and the hosts are so friendly and make the place feel peaceful and cozy. The ski lift isn't far away. You can take the kids up, learn to ski, or get a rush on the tubing.

We decided not to stay after the owner entered our room without warning while guests were inside changing. When we raised the issues, she said the terrace table should be enough for us and that we'd have to pay separately for firewood we'd supposedly taken without permission. The girl who had shown us the place had said we could use the wood without extra charge. We asked the owner to call that girl, whom we'd also contacted the day before to clarify details, but she said she was busy and then had gone somewhere. The Booking description called it a “jacuzzi, swimming pool cottage turnkey.” What we found was a bar on the ground floor, with the pool and jacuzzi at the neighbors' place, 300 meters away. It wasn't a private cottage, but two rooms above a hut. That was our main selection criterion, and we'd clarified it several times. You can't simply leave your room as if you were staying in a cottage. The owners also watched from the neighboring house window, even though the owner denied watching us. She somehow noticed what was in our trunk, in bags left in the car, and confidently said it was all for one day. It seemed she thought people plan only a single day of vacation, and only at her “cottage.” The terrace table is meant for two or three people, not a group. I don't think many would want to sit in an abandoned hut on a nice summer evening. A group came to the gazebo, which the owner says they have, but those people had rented rooms in the owners' own house in the same yard as the “cottage.” There wasn't room for several people at the small terrace table. About the owners' response: it's a pity the owner took comments about the “cottage” as swear words, because we hadn't actually said any to her. As for the so-called “drunkenness,” people had started a barbecue and were cooking in the kitchen, while overlooking that this was not the promised turnkey cottage. Apparently we have different ideas about “drunkenness.” The firewood was wet and couldn't be lit easily. When we checked in, the girl showing us the “cottage” said we could use it without paying extra. The owner later said it would cost extra. The owner says there are bad guests during wartime. She should first ask whether those very “bad guests” are part of why she can still host visitors, and avoid being rude to military people who had a few days off, their first since the full-scale invasion began.

When you come to rest, be ready for a woman to shout at you and watch you from the windows. You book a cottage on Booking, but end up with just one room on the second floor. Firewood is supposedly free until you light a fire, then they charge you for it, especially when it's so damp you can't get it burning. I don't recommend this to anyone hoping for a good break. They'll ruin your mood.
