Pos Pylypets

The best parts were the clean bedding, tidy room, unusual bedside tables, and lovely balcony where I could have coffee in the morning. Breakfast was tasty, especially the syrnyky I ordered twice, made with homemade cheese. The coffee with homemade milk was good too, and the meatball soup was filling. The bathroom was clean, no hair, and had a strong hairdryer. The location is convenient for both the Shypit waterfall and the ski lift. I spent two nights in this beautiful room and had a wonderful impression overall. I'd definitely come back. There were a few things that could be better: the shower needs a shelf for shampoo, and there were no mini toiletries, just soap in a dispenser. The bathroom window had no blinds, so you could be seen at night. There was no cleaning on the second day, the towels weren't changed, the trash wasn't emptied, and no fresh paper was left, so I had to ask. The room was comfortable and clean, but quite humid because of the nearby stream. There were no disposable slippers, and since shoes have to be taken off at the entrance, we had to walk to the room barefoot. Laundry is free only for stays of three days or more. I paid 100 UAH for each of two washes, then had to take the clothes out and hang them on a towel warmer that wasn't realistically reachable from the outlet without asking staff to connect it. When the power goes out, the water does too because the pumps run on electricity. You can ask them to turn on the generator. Soundproofing is nonexistent, and the upstairs neighbors seemed to be rolling around on the floor at night.

The people here made the stay feel like home. They were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the hearty breakfasts, attractive renovation, and cozy feel gave it the charm of a little cabin in the woods while still being stylish and comfortable. The location is great: 5-8 minutes on foot to the Shepot Waterfall and 15-20 minutes to the ski lift entrance. There's a small parking area for guests. This is probably the best place to stay in Pylypets, and if I came back, I'd choose it again. We could only book two nights because other guests had already reserved the following two. Even so, these were the most comfortable stops on our route. Thanks again to the hosts for their hospitality and a comfortable stay. If you can stay longer, you won't regret it.

We stayed here last year and came back this year with my mother. We all came away with the best impressions, and I'm very grateful to the owners. The hotel is gorgeous, cozy, comfortable, stylish, and thought through down to the details. You can hear the river, and the window has a lovely view. It's a 10-15-minute walk to the Shipot waterfall and ski lift. The staff are friendly and very hospitable. Anya cooks so well: the mushroom soup was something else, and everything we ordered was delicious. Those homemade pickles were amazing too. I highly recommend it!

The service and how we were treated ruined what should have been a restful break. We felt like a nuisance whenever we asked for anything. Managers, either provide a service or refuse it, but don't blame guests for asking. The owners should seriously consider hiring more decent staff instead of two people who seem to resent anyone staying there and asking for help. The last incident was after checkout. We'd agreed to leave our suitcases and food in the fridge because our train was in the evening. When we returned to collect them and put the food into a container, the manager came at us with accusations, asking why we were acting at home when our stay was over. We explained we were just picking up our things, but were told we'd mess around in the kitchen, make tea, then use the toilet and shower, and that it was time to leave and they could help us out. It was a disgusting way to be spoken to, and wiped out the good memories. I hadn't planned to write about the everyday inconveniences, but after that I felt I had to. That kind of treatment has no place in hospitality. There were plenty of practical problems too. The website photos made us think there was a balcony, but there wasn't, which misled us. The description said the room had a bed and sofa, but we slept on a fold-out sofa that hurt our backs, while the extra bed was just a mattress on the floor. There wasn't a bedside table or table for our belongings. The only ventilation was through a window with no screens, so we had to choose between mosquitoes and a stuffy room. The bathroom towel warmer didn't work and nobody was going to fix it, leaving us with wet towels for the whole vacation. They did try to accommodate us, and we managed to pay extra to move to a more comfortable room for two of our eight nights. The conditions were better there. Another local inconvenience: in a heavy downpour, you can't use water in the house because of its water supply system, and they offer no alternative. Even the small things became unpleasant. I handed in laundry for the free first wash in the evening, then was accused in the morning of not picking it up after half an hour. There was tea in the kitchen, and when I made myself some, instead of politely explaining that it cost extra, they accused me of taking it. After exhausting work, we wanted a pleasant, relaxing stay. We left stressed, with bad memories instead.
