The pillows were awful, like soft pebbles inside, and the road outside was extremely noisy. You hear music blaring during the day and dogs barking through the night. Cars can't reach the hotel, so expect to walk a minute or two with your bags. There's no lift, and the rooms start on the 2nd floor, which feels more like the 3rd, so you have to carry luggage up and back down with a staff member. The room had no air conditioning and no shampoo, just a soap bar. Towels were stained, the hotel was dirty with cockroaches around, and the staff were very uncooperative. I've never encountered staff like that at another hotel around the world.

No parking here, and the breakfast was among the worst I've had in Kampala, especially for the price. It's basically a place to spend a night or two before heading off to other business. Still, the rooms are cozy enough to dream big. If you're stuck late in the evening and need a reasonably priced nap spot that will leave you fresh enough for a stellar presentation without draining your pockets, this could work.

The rooms are neat and everything's arranged well, and I really like the bathrooms. I couldn't work out the hot water, though. Food is cheap, so I'll definitely come back. The phone in room 15 wasn't working.

A budget hotel close to Kampala Old Taxi Park, with tidy, clean rooms and friendly staff. They've recently added internet and a body spa with massage, waxing and facials. The restaurant is on the lower ground floor facing the taxi park, and has a flat-screen TV showing European matches. The main hotel entrance is on William St, facing the Mutaasa.
