The grounds have gardens and a peaceful, noise-free setting. It’s a nice spot for a stay, a meal, a swim, or a conference.

The pool is the main draw, but the hall prices felt high for what the facilities offer. I also wasn’t keen on the deep-fried chicken.

There’s a little soft-play area for kids, and you can grab snacks by the pool. The place also has plenty of rooms and event spaces used for weddings and conferences. As for the pool itself, it’s basic but fairly clean, and the staff are friendly. Saturdays can get loud with reggae-style music blasting, and around 11 a.m. school kids arrive and splash without much regard for anyone nearby.

Rest gardens is out in Bweyogerere, on the outskirts of Kampala near the national stadium Namboole. It feels like a home away from home, and the swimming is the best part: there’s an Olympic-size pool plus two pools for kids.

The customer care is very good, and the compound is pleasantly green. The gym lacks equipment, though, the rooms are small, and the roads in are rough and dusty.
