Royal Lake View Gardens

I enjoyed the view and the atmosphere here. There's a nice lake view, a garden area outdoors, and great music. The staff were very friendly, and the price felt like good value. My room was generally good, with a balcony and private bathroom. It was a bit noisy at night, but quieted down around 9:30 to 10 pm. The cleanliness was acceptable.

Customer care was very poor. The floor I stayed on had no power, and there was no working generator. They wouldn't move me to an empty room that did have electricity.

The rooms are small, and mine had no hot water, despite it being advertised. The sockets were broken, so I couldn't charge my phone, and the fan didn't work. There were quite a lot of mosquitoes, too. The bedding had no top sheet, leaving the same blanket other guests had used directly against my skin. The sink tap had such low pressure that barely any water came out. I think the pricing and timings are all wrong, and the rooms need work. Don't be fooled by the lake-view rooms either. You can see the lake only if you first look through the dining room, so it doesn't really feel like a lake view. I also asked about the prices because the online prices were cheaper. They told me they didn't do online bookings, but I showed them the listing, so I felt lied to.

The staff were friendly and ready to go out of their way to help. I enjoyed looking at the lake over breakfast. The pillows are hard, though, and I got a neck ache on the first night.
