Hotel Victoria Mews is right in central Kampala, with a big shopping street market just outside. That market can make driving to the hotel difficult at certain times. My airport taxi ride went smoothly despite the traffic, and the driver and I eventually parked at a taxi stand and walked the last bit into the city. The rooms are clean and spacious, with Wi-Fi, and more than adequate for a few days. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable for me since I was out all day and didn't need an expensive luxury hotel. The breakfast buffet is generous too. I liked having a beer after work and watching businesspeople go about their day from the restaurant balcony. My Uganda trip was quite an adventure. I'm a native South African and have lived in Germany since 1989. African countries bring familiar structures but also new challenges, and the different infrastructure can be a culture shock for a European without much experience in the region. I sat in the restaurant for five minutes, but nobody greeted me or brought a menu, even though it wasn't busy. Earlier, after I declined room cleaning, the maid returned hours later while I was out and entered my room. The explanations for why she came in weren't acceptable. I have her on camera looking around for no reason. Be careful.

There's ample parking on the first floor, and the location is right in the heart of the city. A good fit for anyone doing business in Kampala.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the internet worked perfectly. My stay at Victoria Mews Kampala was truly exceptional, comparable to a five-star hotel. The accommodation and cleanliness also set a high standard for comfort and hygiene, so I wholeheartedly recommend it. The manager was proactive about customer satisfaction and dealt with concerns promptly. Staff service was mixed, though: some team members were exceptional, while others were less welcoming. A consistently friendly, positive attitude from everyone would make the experience even better, whatever challenges they may be facing.

Generous breakfast portions, plenty of hot water, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. The rooms were nice and spacious. 10/10 overall, I recommend it.
