Pacific Grand Hotel

I've organized more than three workshops here because they're good at hosting them. The conference hall service is great, and meals arrive hot and on time. Being in Lira town also makes it easy for participants to walk over. The accommodation is less impressive. Rooms are a bit small, the bedding is overly used, and privacy isn't great. Since the hotel is popular for workshops, there are often lots of people around, so the compound can get noisy during the day with people walking and talking.

The hotel has a superb, quiet atmosphere, with lots of shade from the trees. Its conference hall is spacious enough, too, though the service needs an upgrade. It's also only about a minute's walk from Lira city centre.

The meals, especially breakfast and lunch, are the one good thing here. Customer service is also great, though the staff could use more professional training. They seem committed but lack professionalism, motivation, and teamwork. For basic accommodation, it may do. Most of the place needs an overhaul, including the compound, rooms, beds, and toilets. The intercom doesn't work, so I had to go out to find room service, and the hotel phones weren't working either. I had a bad bathing experience: the bathroom smelled, and the sink drains straight onto the bathroom floor, causing a stench. The sockets also aren't properly earthed, which creates a power hazard for guests.
