Sandton Hotel Kasese

The location on the main road in town is the main thing this hotel has going for it. The rooms are small, though the AC is a big plus in this part of the country, and the open dining area is a nice touch. They don’t serve beer, but will get it from outside if you pay cash. Breakfast is basic, with little choice for anyone wanting a continental menu. For a hotel that seems to aspire to the high end, the service needs serious work before it deserves a 3-star rating. Restaurant staff spent more time chatting and laughing than paying attention to customers. The water dispenser was empty, and the bubble top hadn’t been replaced. When I asked for a glass of water, I expected them to sort it out, but after more than 20 minutes and several requests, the waitress said they had no water and went back to chatting with colleagues who seemed unaffected. I also reported it to the girl ushering customers inside, but got no response, as if my complaint didn’t matter. They need to train staff in basic customer service and improve the service levels, or the rating will stay low.

The breakfast, oohh LaLa 😭♥, and all for a small fee. Rooms are well organized, with AC and clean bathrooms and toilets. You can choose cold or hot water for your shower.

We felt right at home during our short trip and would definitely recommend Sandton hotel. The rooms were cozy, comfortable, and air conditioned, which made the stay even better in that weather. Staff were warm, welcoming, polite, and cheerful. Everything was peaceful and clean, and the food was amazing, with the presentation always on point. ~Jenny & Lisa~

On the day of our visit, 26th July 2025, I was moved from the room we had agreed on into a tiny single room. Management said they didn’t remember what I had booked. I had booked 9 rooms a month earlier and paid a week before the visit. Then, 12 hours after payment, I was told that 8 of the agreed rooms had already been booked, leaving just one. The frustration at Sandton was awful. Travelers, take note of what’s happening there 🫵🏽😢.
