The bus connections make it easy to get around, and the men at reception were pleasant enough. But the place was barely clean and falling apart in spots. I got in the lift and the skirting board fell off. Anyone can come in from the street and take the lift up without passing reception, so there’s no security for the room floors. There was a kettle and two mugs, but no tea or coffee; both mugs and the two glasses were dirty. The towels smelled damp. Our sheets were clean, though friends in another room didn’t have that luck. There were some questionable people outside. For the same price, you can stay centrally in a clean hotel.

My husband and I stayed for one night while visiting Aberdeen for family matters. The room was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed, including a kettle, soap and shampoo. The service was really nice, the price was great, and it’s close to the seaside.

Belvilla was closed for refurbishment, so we stayed at the Holiday in right next door. The hotel was quiet, friendly and felt safe, and the staff were helpful and always around. The beds were comfortable. We didn’t try the food. It was decent all round, and I’d stay there again if I ever visit Aberdeen, though I’m not planning to.

It’s a budget place, and does what it says on the tin. The hotel is very dated and still mostly labelled as a holiday inn. We had to change rooms because when we pulled back the covers to get into bed, there was hair and blood. The new room was fine.

A discreet, nicely priced hotel in a good location. The staff were friendly, and check-in and check-out were straightforward. Highly recommend.
