We used the guest house for four nights while going to an event at P&J arena. The room was basic but good value, and it’s about a 1.5 mile walk to the arena. Dyce train station is nearby, making it easy to get to and from Aberdeen centre. The owner was friendly and helpful, and even suggested we take breakfast items to the arena because the prices there were extortionate. It worked well for what we needed.

I arrived earlier than planned, and the host was very pleasant about it. He let me unload my gear, and both the room and bathroom were clean and tidy. Looking forward to a good sleep and breakfast tomorrow 👍

The owner was brilliant. It’s a really good guest house, and the one place I’ve stayed where you can help yourself to refreshments any time of day.

The location was good, but that was the only thing I liked. We stayed one night for a hospital appointment and didn’t try breakfast because we had to leave early. Parking was advertised, and I think the spaces were around the side on a pavement, but when I asked, I was told they wouldn’t be responsible if anything happened to my car. I still didn’t get a clear answer about whether that was their parking or if it was okay to leave the car there. The room was very basic and had no tea making facilities. The bed was okay, neither great nor terrible. What made this a one-time stay was the strong damp smell in the room. We had to keep the window open all night. The bathroom smelled damp too, and it got much worse when I opened the shower doors. I should’ve complained at the time, but after an eight-hour shift and a two-and-a-half-hour drive, I just wanted some sleep before my early appointment.

I spent a month at Granville and found it a very nice place. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and nothing was missing. Breakfast was really good, with fruit, cakes, bread, jam, butter, cream, yogurt, cereals, different juices, tea, coffee and chocolate milk, and you can take what you want. Salamat was there if I needed anything, a very gentle man who welcomed me like a valued guest. For a longer stay, you can keep some food in a fridge, and there’s a little Tesco close by for when you’re hungry. I wouldn’t be disappointed booking here. See you next time, Salamat.
