The pillows could do with an upgrade, but the beds were comfortable and the shower head was great. I had a really good two-night stay, with friendly staff and a perfect location. Lots of attractions were within walking distance, and the bus was only three minutes away. Thanks again, it was a great experience.

Breakfast spoiled what could have been a good stay. When staff began clearing the buffet, they came to our table and told us to leave. They even gave us a tray and directed us to take the remaining food into the lobby to finish it there. I know breakfast has set hours, but people who are already seated and eating should be able to finish without being pushed elsewhere. If service is ending, staff could announce the last service clearly and handle it discreetly. Moving guests out mid-meal didn’t feel hospitable or professional. The room was clean and comfortable, the front desk staff were genuinely helpful, and the location was excellent for the city centre. It’s a shame that the breakfast treatment undermined those positives.

The included breakfast was good, and the hotel was spotless, with a decent-sized room. We had a quiet stay, apart from the usual noise of people heading to their rooms. There’s a Wetherspoons about two minutes away for budget food and drinks. My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in February 2026 to visit family. The staff were great and arranged for our daughter to have the room next door when she came for one night at the end of our stay. Fantastic value for money.

The breakfast was a bit rubbish, though that’s what I expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The room was decent, and this hotel compares well with most of the other Holiday Inn Express places. I arrived much too early to expect a room, but the receptionist with dyed hair let me work quietly in the meeting room. She even brought me coffee and a biscuit. Such a lovely gesture, and she was lovely.

Our rooms were clean and comfortable, but what we appreciated most was how Dyson at reception handled a stressful night. My wife and I were travelling with an eight-month-old and a five-year-old when our connecting flight from Aberdeen was cancelled. We only got there around 10 pm and were very anxious. Dyson was calm, kind and helpful, and went well beyond what we expected. He made a difficult situation manageable and even enjoyable. Our five-year-old had gone from a major airport meltdown to declaring it the best hotel ever and wanting to stay longer. My wife and I both wanted to thank Dyson for his thoughtful service. He’s a real asset to a welcoming, well-run hotel.
