Richmond Hotel

Service was good, but I had a few issues with the bedroom. There was a powerful smell when I arrived, with a strong cleaning-product undertone. The layout was awkward too, with the hand towel outside the bathroom. The heating was turned up too high, and I had to move a heavy desk that was in the way to adjust it.

We’ve stayed a couple of times and will be back. The cooked breakfast is superb, and the staff are excellent and friendly. We asked for a sea view and weren’t charged extra; the sea is just across the road. Parking is first come, first served, and we got a space. The hotel is a little dated, but clean and comfortable. There’s no lift.

The room was comfortable and clean, with a wonderful outlook over the sea. Staff were lovely and friendly, and there was plenty to choose from at breakfast.

We were visiting because a family member was having an operation at the nearby hospital, and the team at the Richmond made such a difference. Their welcome was warm, and they went above and beyond for our family. We can’t thank them enough.
