The Cherry Tree

We only booked at the last minute, but they were very accommodating. The manager was lovely and clearly likes dogs, making both of ours feel welcome. Our room was cosy and even had a Firestick. We all had a lovely stay and will definitely come back.

The bar staff were on the ball, even while training someone new. The new chef has done a great job: the meat at Sunday lunch was so tender it melted in your mouth. We’ll definitely be back, and highly recommend it. Sue and mark

We visited on Friday 7th November and again on Sunday 9th November. Both times there was no heating and no fire, so we had to sit in coats and scarves. It's a nice pub, but it really should be warm in November. I hate to imagine what December will be like. Also, if someone orders a spirit with a mixer on the side, please leave the mixer separate and let the customer add it.

The room was a good size, and the location and large car park were ideal. But I could hear scratching and animals scurrying around in the roof constantly. The noise woke me at 5am on both mornings. The shower drain in room 3 was also a problem: I had to keep stopping the water after less than a minute to avoid nearly flooding the bathroom. The worst part was the staff gathering in the courtyard after hours. They were singing, smoking and very loud until after midnight, even though the pub closes at 9pm. It was really inconsiderate, especially when they knew guests had paid £100 a night to stay there.
